Sarria releases «Mi plan»: dance music with an introspective heart
Sarria releases Mi plan on 23 October 2026 through Esmerarte. The 11-track third album mixes disco, funk and psychedelia with intimate lyrics, ahead of an 11-date Spanish tour.

How do you make an album designed for dancing when its lyrics keep returning to loneliness, anxiety and self-doubt? Spanish artist Sarria has made that tension central to «Mi plan», his third studio album, released today, 23 October 2026, through Esmerarte. Across eleven tracks, the Málaga-born musician moves beyond the vintage psychedelic rock associated with his earlier recordings and finds a more rhythmic vocabulary.
There are funk guitar figures, heavier basslines, disco and soul influences, and synthesizers that share space with the rock instruments he has not abandoned. The result is being presented not as a sudden stylistic costume but as the musical record of two years of change. Sarria has taken on a wide range of creative responsibilities, from songwriting and composition to performance and production, while Raúl Pérez has also contributed to the production.
Sad words, movement and the desire to start again
The key is the distance between the sound and its subject matter. «Mi plan» is built on the idea that joyful or kinetic music need not express uncomplicated happiness. Some of the songs examine habits that are hard to break, the pressure of contemporary life and the effort of working out who one is becoming. This is a dance record interested in the emotional cost of change.
The earlier single «Sé que no sé lo que hago» introduced that conflict through the feeling of being unable to manage aspects of oneself. «Artificial» confronted appearances and a life shaped by algorithms, asking how much authenticity remains in a world of manufactured images. Titles such as «Todo está saliendo bien» and «Quiero vivir más lento» suggest a different wish: that life might be lived with more joy and less relentless speed.
Funk and disco provide the collective release that the lyrics cannot always find. That opposition gives the project a distinctive identity without requiring every song to share the same arrangement.
A new sound, but not a rejection of his roots
Sarria cites inspirations ranging from Chic, Prince and Michael Jackson to contemporary groups including Parcels, Jungle, Arcade Fire and Tame Impala. Those names give a sense of the record’s influences, though they should not be mistaken for a track-by-track listening verdict. The stated musical direction brings vintage grooves and modern electronic textures into contact with the rock and psychedelia of his previous releases.
His discography began with the self-titled «Sarria» in 2021 and continued with «El mundo es cruel (pero creo en él)» in 2024. Seen in that context, «Mi plan» marks a third stage: a musician expanding his methods to better express the questions driving his writing.
Eleven songs, including a collaboration with Ángel Stanich
One notable entry is «Luces blancas», featuring Ángel Stanich. The collaboration explores the ambitions and disappointments of a musician’s life, an especially apt subject for an artist whose last two years have involved extensive touring and a changing relationship with his work.

The interesting promise of «Mi plan» is not that Sarria has discovered a different genre. It is that he is trying to turn personal uncertainty into something other people can move to together.
