Young guitars, familiar influences and a new record deal. Múltipla, a three-piece band from Zaragoza featuring Fer, Nico and Marcos, have joined Subterfuge Records. Their next single, «Conectados y separados», is scheduled for 29 October 2026 and will introduce the group’s second album.

The band first performed together in 2024, when its members were between 19 and 21 years old. Their guitar-bass-drums setup channels influences from Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure and The Smiths while looking toward more recent bands such as Fontaines D.C. The connecting thread is an interest in strong melodies and shifts between restrained passages and loud, energetic releases.

The long route between the rehearsal room and Subterfuge

Being young is not the band’s entire story. The Zaragoza trio have already supported GHOULJABOY, shared bills with groups including La Paloma, JODER JUAN, Cora Yako and Whiffs, and appeared at festivals such as PolifoniK Sound, FIZ and Vive Latino, according to the record label’s announcement. Their 2025 vinyl release «Lola / Tan desconocido» was another concrete step in establishing a catalogue before the move to Subterfuge.

The musical references mentioned by the label span several decades. The Cure and The Smiths suggest a fondness for melodic guitar patterns; Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins are touchstones for the shift between quiet and loud; and Fontaines D.C. offer a more contemporary point of comparison. That list says something about the band’s ambitions, although the new single itself must be judged on its own terms once available.

What the deal changes, and what it doesn’t

Múltipla’s relationship with the Antípodas booking agency and their new home at Subterfuge indicate a growing support structure around a band that already plays live regularly. Such developments can create opportunities for a wider audience, but they do not guarantee a particular musical outcome. The more relevant milestone for listeners is the 29 October release of «Conectados y separados», followed by the still-undated second album.

As of 26 October, the song has not yet been released. This article is therefore a story about a signing and an upcoming single, not a review of unheard music. That distinction is important when presenting an emerging group without overstating what has already happened.

From a first show to a bigger platform

Múltipla’s first concert came as support for GHOULJABOY. The trio have since appeared in venues across Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Zaragoza, with festival appearances including PolifoniK Sound, FIZ and Vive Latino. Their 2025 vinyl release «Lola / Tan desconocido» helped establish the project before this new chapter.

The partnership with Subterfuge now gives them a new label home as they prepare their sophomore record. It follows a growing live presence and increasing attention within Spain’s independent guitar scene.

What happens on 29 October?

The announcement positions «Conectados y separados» as a representative statement of the band’s sound and lyrics. As of 26 October, however, the track has not yet been released, so judging it would be premature. The next step will be to hear whether the new single builds on the musical identity established at their shows.

Further performances are planned in Barcelona, Madrid, Vigo, A Coruña and Zaragoza. For Múltipla, the coming months could turn a promising start into a more defined musical direction.
