Los Tang return to Planet Tang with a new take on “What I Like About You”
Los Tang release the three-track EP ‘Regreso al planeta Tang’, led by their own take on The Romantics classic ‘What I Like About You’.
Los Tang return with Regreso al planeta Tang, a three-track EP led by a new version of “What I Like About You”, the classic originally released by The Romantics in 1980.
Power pop, sixties and new wave
The band takes the song into its own territory through bright guitars, direct rhythms and a reading shaped by power pop and new wave. Laura García leads on vocals and guitar, joined by Javi Ilu on guitar, Patxi García on drums and JuanMa Carrera on bass and backing vocals.
The EP also includes “Tin Soldier” and “Is It On, Is It Off”. The recordings feature keyboards by Inés, a former member of Cooper who played with Los Tang during a particularly creative period for the band.
A compact return on record
Between 2017 and 2025, Los Tang played venues and festivals across Spain with a repertoire mixing original songs and covers. Appearances at events such as Purple Weekend reflect a career closely connected to power pop, sixties influences and new wave.
Regreso al planeta Tang brings that energy back in a compact format: three tracks driven by melody, guitars and a band that has always understood pop as music made to move to.
