Sleaford Mods — Cato. The duo have expanded The Demise Of Planet X with nine additional tracks from the sessions for their thirteenth studio album. Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn adopted a more collaborative recording approach, leaving them with more material than could fit the original tracklist. The expanded edition gives listeners a view of the decisions behind the final album.

Songs and musical direction

«Cato» features Sue Tompkins of Life Without Buildings, who previously collaborated with the duo on «No Touch». She also directed the video, inspired by Cato from the Inspector Clouseau films. Other additions include an alternate version of «The Good Life» with Big Special, «How What», «Cheap Cheap Shit», «There We Are Then» and «Dr Who?».

Background and live plans

An earlier «The Good Life» has different lyrics and a slower tempo, while «The Return Of The Bin White Dukes» traces an idea that later became «Don Draper». The expanded release arrives ahead of the duo’s autumn European concerts.
