Queens of the Stone Age are approaching release week with more than a new record to announce. Their nine-track album «Perfecth» arrives on 30 October 2026 via Matador Records. A performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a newly announced 2027 tour and a Halloween record-store celebration are bringing the project into focus.

According to the band’s release notes, sessions stretched from New Orleans to Los Angeles, with Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman producing. The songs explore several kinds of love: relationships that hold people together, those that break them apart, and the difficult process of finding a way back.

Not just another album announcement: a whole release-week calendar

The campaign now has several distinct entry points. «Insignificant Other» was the first new music to introduce «Perfecth», while «Easy Street», featuring Nikki Lane, revealed another part of the band’s range. «Where the Goth Girls At?» then moved onto television with an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show. Together they show contrasting facets of the forthcoming album; they should not be treated as evidence that every unreleased track follows the same sound.

Pre-sales for the newly announced North American live dates are set for 28 October, with a general on-sale on 29 October at 10am local venue time. The nine-track album arrives on the 30th, followed by «HalloQueen» events at participating independent record stores on 31 October. The new tour dates start on 1 May 2027 in San Diego and feature Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp. The announcement does not yet include a Spanish date for this tour.

29 October update: «Run Away From the Mob» closes the record

Queens of the Stone Age have released a fourth preview just before the album’s arrival. «Run Away From the Mob», the closing track of «Perfecth», began with a recording made in 2013 featuring Dave Grohl on drums. Josh Homme says he was not ready to complete the song until this year, when his experiences finally made sense of its subject.

Homme describes it as a final letter to his eldest son, combining a warning with the conviction that things can ultimately be all right. His falsetto and the song’s surging instrumentation provide a dramatic final glimpse of a record exploring different forms of love, loss and repair. Turning fractures into a creative principle

The concept draws on kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery while making its cracks visible. For a band whose music has frequently balanced aggression with elegance, that image feels particularly fitting. The deliberately altered title «Perfecth» suggests something less polished, and perhaps more emotionally revealing, than conventional perfection.

The record is described as moving between dark, menacing passages and gentler, stranger moments. Rather than promise a single sonic mood, the group is framing these nine tracks as a series of contrasting perspectives on love and loss.

New music on late-night television

QOTSA recently played «Where the Goth Girls At?» on Jimmy Fallon’s show. The track joins previously shared songs «Insignificant Other» and «Easy Street», the latter featuring Nikki Lane. The television performance provides another glimpse of what the full album might deliver.

From HalloQueen to the 2027 tour

Selected independent record stores will host «HalloQueen» events on 31 October, while the band has also announced North American dates for May 2027 with Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp. The album’s nine tracks are «It’s Only Love», «Insignificant Other», «Where the Goth Girls At?», «Mono», «From the Cliff», «Sunday», «Easy Street», «Phantom Limb» and «Run Away From the Mob».

Those details set the scene. Whether «Perfecth» adds a truly new chapter to the band’s story is a question for the album itself.
