Alison Darwin release «Con la misma cara»: guitars, electronics and generational fatigue
Alison Darwin release second album Con la misma cara on 23 October 2026. Ten tracks of alternative rock, punk energy and electronics, ahead of a Spanish tour.

The coffee has stopped working, expectations keep rising and everything is moving too quickly. These familiar frustrations run through «Con la misma cara», the second full-length album from Barcelona band Alison Darwin, released on 23 October 2026. Laura Soler, Sara Mimó, Aleix Fernández and Mario De’Finis retain the guitar-driven force that has defined their shows while pushing the sound into electronic textures and new rhythmic territory.
The record brings together ten songs that look at emotional exhaustion, ambiguous relationships and the difficulty of finding direction in a culture of permanent urgency. The lyrics use blunt language and irony rather than a solemn voice. Musically, the group make frustration a physical experience: riffs, drums and synthesizers give those words somewhere to move.
Ten snapshots of a restless generation
The track titles are revealing: «Llevo días», «El café no me hace nada», «Nunca es suficiente», «Excusas» and «Depresión de M» sound like phrases collected from real conversations. They suggest people who are tired of performing competence while privately feeling uncertain. The release material describes the songs as direct, critical and occasionally darkly humorous.
That approach allows the group to explore vulnerability without making every track sound withdrawn. A sharp guitar riff or an insistent beat can offer a form of resistance, and the album’s most interesting stated ambition is to preserve that tension between emotional honesty and confrontation.
What «Quiero tekno» reveals about the new sound
«Quiero tekno» provided one of the clearest clues before the album arrived. It begins with the band’s familiar guitar attack before shifting into a techno-influenced passage, expanding their musical vocabulary without losing their energy. Its video places a night out in Barcelona alongside correfocs and sardanes from the Poble-sec neighbourhood, bringing rave culture and local traditions into one visual world.
Another advance, «El café no me hace nada», combines Latin-influenced rhythms with punk-driven choruses. The subject is exhaustion, but the delivery is deliberately exaggerated. These songs show why «Con la misma cara» should not be understood as a straightforward continuation of the group’s previous alternative-rock approach.
A production shaped from inside the band
The album was recorded at Arctic Wave with Carlos Dueñas responsible for recording, mixing and production. Drummer Mario De’Finis also co-produced, while Víctor García mastered the record at Ultramarinos. That internal contribution is significant because the changes in rhythm and texture are closely connected to the identity of the musicians who will perform these songs live.
Alison Darwin cite projects including Turnstile and Alt Blk Era as references for the period of recording. The comparison is a clue to their interest in contrast and experimentation, not a claim that they have adopted either band’s style wholesale.

The live chapter begins in Córdoba
The release is followed immediately by the start of the new tour: Saturday 24 October at Sala 2 de Impala in Córdoba. Murcia, Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza and Lleida are among the other cities mentioned by the band’s team, with further dates still to come.
After appearances at Polifonik, Gigante, Cooltural and Planeta Sound, the quartet face an interesting live challenge: making room for electronics without losing the impact that made their guitar shows so memorable.
Mewsick News previously covered the opening date of the Córdoba tour. This article focuses on the record itself. Listen to «Con la misma cara» via its official release link and follow Alison Darwin on Instagram.
Rather than promise an escape from confusion, the album suggests that naming it and turning up the volume may be a meaningful start.
