Aviador Dro presenta El Día de la IA, su primer single en 14 años

Forty-seven years after they first appeared, Aviador Dro are still finding new material in the future.

The pioneering Spanish techno-pop band have released “El Día de la IA”, their first original single in fourteen years and the beginning of a new chapter that also includes a 2026–27 tour.

Few titles could fit them better.

Since forming in 1979, drawing inspiration from acts such as Kraftwerk, Devo and The Residents, Aviador Dro have built much of their identity around technology, science, machines and the relationship between progress and society.

This time, the subject is unavoidable: artificial intelligence.

“El Día de la IA” looks at the unstoppable expansion of AI and the question of who will ultimately control it, continuing the mixture of futurism, provocation and social commentary that has run through the band’s work for decades.

Their recording comeback is accompanied by a new tour taking them through cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Valencia, Salamanca and Seville, combining material from across their 47-year history with new songs.

There is something strangely appropriate about a band that has spent decades imagining technologically transformed societies returning at exactly this moment.

The future Aviador Dro have been singing about since the late seventies is already here. And they still have something to say about it.
