Vetusta Morla have released “Bailar en Beirut” on October 9, 2026, reconnecting with an experience that helped shape the Spanish band’s history: their appearance at Beirut’s Anti-Crise festival in 2004.

According to the band, the song was sparked by images of a cellist playing amid the ruins of the Lebanese capital. The scene prompted a reflection on the role of art during conflict and brought back memories of their own time in Beirut.

Back to 2004

The musicians describe their visit 22 years ago as a defining moment for their friendship and artistic bond. The new track bridges that memory with the group’s current chapter.

Directed by Iván Blanco, the music video combines archival footage from the 2004 Beirut performance with recent tour rehearsals and footage from the band’s October 2 concert in Barcelona.

A new musical chapter

“Bailar en Beirut” is the second preview of an upcoming recording project. The band recorded the track live together at 5020 Studios in Madrid. It was produced by Héctor Reo and Vetusta Morla for Pequeño Salto Mortal, with mixing and mastering by Óscar Clavel.

The release follows a creative break of more than two years and coincides with their Gira de Vuelta – Canciones de Ida tour, including dates in Valencia, Pamplona, Málaga, A Coruña, Seville and Madrid throughout October and November.
