A song shaped by Musk’s own words
David Byrne and composer Daniel Pemberton have released «Let Me Sell You a Dream», an original song written for Alex Gibney’s Elon Musk documentary «MUSK». Released through Matador Records, the track plays over the film’s closing credits.
Rather than writing a straightforward attack, Byrne drew on Musk’s own public statements to build the song’s narrator. He previously explored a similar technique on «Here Lies Love».
Byrne worked on the track using a laptop while touring, while Pemberton, who scored the film, handled production.
«MUSK» opened in New York and Los Angeles on October 9, 2026, with a wider US release scheduled for October 16. The documentary also draws on earlier interviews and recorded statements.
