HANZ RUIZ unpacks vulnerability on debut rock album «FRÁGIL»
HANZ RUIZ releases alternative-rock debut FRÁGIL, with focus track Cristal and a Barcelona show announced for February 2027.
Starting again often involves deciding which memories are worth taking with you. Catalan musician HANZ RUIZ uses moving boxes, packing tape and the familiar red warning label as the visual language of «FRÁGIL», his debut album, released on 30 October 2026. Its songs explore identity, insecurity and the willingness to change without pretending that vulnerability is a flaw.
Moving house as an emotional metaphor
A move forces people to reconsider what to keep and what to leave behind. HANZ RUIZ turns that ordinary process into a framework for a record about the expectations and protective habits that accumulate over time. «Cristal», presented with a lyric video as the album’s focus track, confronts the idea that personal strength always means appearing invulnerable.
The concept gains interest when placed beside the artist’s actual creative history. Before this album, he released the «Marengo» EP and a sequence of singles including «Frío», «Cosquilleo», «Tu Mirada» and «Cuántas Veces».
Old-school guitars, contemporary perspective
Raised on bands including Oasis, Nirvana and Green Day, the artist returns to the direct language of alternative-rock guitars and big choruses. His power trio includes Ignasi Mir on guitar and Joel Llauradó on drums and production. Modern recording choices offer a different perspective from a simple reproduction of the 1990s.
There is also a practical side to the story. The project was financed by capitalizing the musician’s unemployment benefit, turning financial risk into part of its creation. That fact gives the idea of a personal transition a much more concrete meaning.
From studio to stage
The album will be presented on 19 February 2027 at Barcelona’s Sala Laut, with ticket information to follow. A vinyl edition is also available, linking the music to an artwork concept developed around physical objects and memories.
«FRÁGIL» invites attention not because sincerity is new in rock, but because its creator has tried to make a recognizable life change the organizing principle of his first full-length record.
