tindersticks announce «Dog Roses» and five Spanish shows after twenty years in one studio
Dog Roses arrives March 12, 2027, with lead single Loving, Leaving and five concerts in Spain from November 30 to December 6.

Sometimes a change of scenery does more than change the view. After twenty years working in the same recording space, tindersticks moved into an underground studio where their established methods seemed of little use. Their response is «Dog Roses», a new album due on 12 March 2027 through City Slang. The first single, «Loving, Leaving», is already available, while five Spanish theatre concerts have been announced for late 2027.
A leap beyond «Soft Tissue»
Stuart Staples produced and recorded the new album between December 2025 and August 2026. Following 2024’s «Soft Tissue», the group wanted to do more than repeat a successful formula. Staples has described the experience of making these songs as attempting to capture a fleeting feeling: an image, a physical sensation or a moment of thought that resists simple explanation.
That search rests on a band with a distinctive collective language: Earl Harvin on drums, Dan McKinna on bass, David Boulter on keyboards and Neil Fraser on guitar, alongside Staples. Guests include Dave Okumu on electric guitar and Julian Siegel on saxophone. Longtime collaborator Lucy Wilkins has arranged strings for two tracks. Their contributions suggest the importance of texture and interplay, without telling us exactly how the unheard songs will sound.
Eight songs and one first glimpse
«Loving, Leaving» opens an eight-track album followed by «Intimacy», «Wild Sage», «Slow Love», «Flying Cars», «Your Children», «Tell Me About You» and «Dog Roses». Titles can hint at a record’s concerns, but they are not evidence of its musical direction. What matters now is the way the first single introduces another period in a career built on elegant tension, unusual arrangements and Staples’ unmistakable voice.
Since the 1990s, tindersticks have moved among chamber pop, soul and cinematic songwriting without being fully contained by any of those labels. At their fifteenth studio album, their challenge is less about proving that they have a signature than about finding fresh reasons to use it.
Spain: five theatres in November and December 2027
The dates are 30 November in Madrid’s Teatro La Latina; 2 December in San Sebastián’s Teatro Victoria Eugenia; 4 December at La Rambleta in Valencia; 5 December at Teatro Central in Seville; and 6 December at Teatro Cervantes in Málaga. General ticket sales open on 30 October 2026 at 11 am. These intimate seated venues seem an appropriate setting for music that depends on the space between notes as much as on their volume.
«Dog Roses» will be released digitally, on CD and on vinyl. The single offers a first entry into this new chapter; the rest of the musical picture will become clear in March.
